In That Gold Land
curated by Thad Kellstadt
Heaven Gallery, Chicago, IL
May- June, 2009
In That Gold Land presents a group of artists from across the country whose practices examine the line between idealism and reality. When re-imagining culture, what parts of nature and human relationships are kept and what parts are left behind?
The exhibition imagines new systems, building worlds that form and melt, longing and dreading their inevitable decay. Work in the show includes painting, video, drawing and animatronic advertising mascots.
